To all,
Last night we received over 3,000 pounds of mail. This was the first mail we have had in just over a week. Did not take us that long to really get it sorted out to the different commands we have here. We have roughly 50 different commands on the island. From the time we started at the airport with accounting for it till we finished back in the office took us just over 4 hours.
The have scheduled a Thanksgiving service on Thursday as well as Thanksgiving dinner. Should be pretty good.

Just to let everyone know I have been here almost two weeks. Not to much going on at this time have started work for the most part. The weather here is one of three: rain, clear, cloudy. Would say so far the average temp is around mid 80's with a high humidity. Not as high as say the south in the middle of summer. Talking about summer we will be going into summer here as you all are going into winter. Yes, the seasons here are opposite from there.
Intro: As parents we love our children. Every child is different, and we express our love differently to them, but we should not favor one over the other. The life of Esau is a life that has great difficulty. There is much that can be learned from him. The condition of our hearts and openness to God is often related to our relationship to family. Are you allowing family or earthly relationships to color your relationship to God?
Interog: Will you learn form the bitterness and anger of Esau and open you heart completely to God
and His Goodness?
Read Scripture: Genesis 25:21-34
1. Born in Conflict 25:21-28
Two Nations, separated from you body (mutually antagonistic from birth – Haftorahs)
Jacob grabbed Esau’s heal
Isaac loved Esau, Rebekah loved Jacob
Conflict continued beyond life – Edomites Gen36:43 Esau Fathered the Edomites
Numbers 20 Moses not allowed to cross Edom
Joshua set his boarders “next to Edom”
Judges 11 Israel on the move – not allowed to cross through Edom
1 Sam 14 – King Saul fought against Edom
2 Samuel 8:14 – David subdued the Edomites and fulfilled the prophesy
1 King 11 – God raised up a adversary against Solomon it was an Edomite named Hadad
2. A Bad Decision and a Bad Situation 25:29-34, 27:1-45
Chose food over birthright trading the ultimate for the immediate
Hebrew 12: 14-16 “hated his birthright” “root of bitterness”
The story of betrayal by both Jacob and Rebekah
Victim mentality – comforted by thoughts of killing brother – bitterly wounded
Sought to appease his parents 28:9 right thing wrong way aligned with was pulled away
Story of Jacob and Laban – almost twenty years later
3. A Run at Reconciliation 33:1-16
Read 1, 4, 12-17
Esau no longer hated his brother or wanted to kill him, but wanted to walk together with him,
Jacob refused
Jacob camped away from Esau
Separated again and finally Deut 4-5
Conclusion: Love you children equally, even if differently respecting their individuality. Keep you focus on things above Col 3:2 “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Seek reconciliation and forgiveness even if it is not returned. God loves you equally, He has a blessing for you and you alone, be reconciled.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Orchard Room. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child this year. It is going to be a great year.
This year your child will be learning many things about God's world. Your child will also be learning their basic shapes and colors, letters Aa and Bb and numbers 1 and 2 this month. The memory verses for the month are: John 1:3, Genesis 1:11, Jeremiah 5:24, and Psalm 136:1.
A folder will be sent home daily. In this folder you will find the weekly memory verse, behavior chart, communication between parent and teacher, and any work your child has done that day. Please check this daily and initial the chart and I will be checking daily for any communication from you.
You can encourage your child by asking about their day, posting special papers in a place of honor and by helping to memorize Bible verses. Be sure to praise your child for efforts shown.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year.
In His Service,
Mrs. Nichelle Wells
Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming my Father who sent me! ~Mark 9:37

Intro: What has God promised you and delayed? What do you long for and await? Have you wanted to give up? Have you thought, “How long must I wait?”? A child, a better job, a house to raise your family in, a dream deferred to the point of doubt. Abraham and Sarah would have been able to tell a story to rival any of ours.
Interog: Abraham and Sarah had a promise and saw a problem, but they did not have what we have. We have them to tell us to wait, hold on, God will show up in time, he will be faithful, but can that really change our reaction? Will you be like Abraham and Sarah, or will you hold on and see the hand of a faithful God?
Read Scripture: Gen 21:1-8
1. God Keeps His Promise. Verse 21:1-5
Verse 5 - 12:17, 13:15-16, 15:5, – History of the promise
Ps 105:42-45
Kings 8:22 – Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication
2. God’s People Rejoice When He Keeps His Promise. Verse 21:6-7
Nehemiah 12:36 – Dedication of the Temple
NT Promise – John 16:23-24 – Ask of the Lord
3. The Choice: God or God’s Provision. Verses 22:1-10
Gen 4:7 – Cain’s choice, Luke 22:31 Peter’s choice
Joshua 24:14-15
Choose not to give up on God and His promise
People with vision
4. God Rewards His Obedient Servants. Verses 22:11-19
Israel was promised a kingdom, they are a nation to this day.
David was given the promise of an eternal Kingdom – Jesus fulfilled it
You have been promised deliverance and purpose, choose this day.
Conclusion: Cling to the promises of God, not the things of this world. It is not easy, and you will most likely experience failure along the way, but do not give in to sin, and do not give up on God!
Remember Abram: In Gen 12 Abram left his home to go where the Lord would sent, but lied to the people of Egypt about Sarai his wife. In chapter 13 he let Lot choose the land they would divide. In 14 he aided the Sodomites against there captors and brought back Lot, and made an offering to the High Priest. After the offer God came to Abram.
1. God Gives Abram a Promise. 15:1-6
I am - What will you give me?
Verse 5 - 12:17, 13:15-16, 15:5 – History of the promise
Verse 6 – Rom 4:3, Gal 3:6, James 2:23
2. Abram and Sarai Think There is a Problem. 16:1-
God’s timing is always preferred to ours.
There are no short cuts only surrender
Mathew 6:33-34, Rom 1:8-13 – Patients in serving, timing and obedience
3. God Declares His promise 17:1-22
17:2, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14 - Covenant
4. God Will Not Compromise His Word. 17:17-19, 18:9-14
Abraham was willing to accept Ishmael as the son of promise, but not God
God will do His will His way, even when we will accept less.
18:14 – He promised Sarah would have a child, and Sarah will have a child.
Our God is a promise keeping God.
Conclusion: What compromises have you made in the life God want to give you? You cannot short cut God; you can only serve Him obediently or be in rebellion. Obedience is God’s will, Gods way, and God’s time. Live in complete surrender today.
Intro: Nothing defines us as people, especially as people of faith, than the choices we make. Each choice is based on certain truths weather stated or unstated, conscious or unconscious, aspired or actual, our life is a series of consequences and benefits of the choices we make. Our journey through the book of Genesis leads us to a place were two men ar forced to make choices, but from very different perspectives.
Interog: As you look at these two men of scripture, I want you to consider not just what choice you would make in their place, but by what criteria are you making you choices every day?
Read scripture Genesis 13
1. Abram Choose to Make Peace with his Brother.
The dispute was not between Abram and Lot, but with there workers.
Their dispute was overstuff, verse 2, 6, 7
Abram made the first step of grace.
Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God.”
Romans 5:8 “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we where still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Abram did not see to enforce his right, but gave Lot an option.
Do you choose to make peace with those whom you love, work, and reside.
2. Lot Choose what was best for Himself.
Warren Wiersbe lists five apparent motivations for the choice that lot made.
1) Pride, 8,9 – Lot should have honored Abram by giving him the choice.
2) Unbelief 10 – he lifted his eyes, mad the decision from his own point of view, no prayer.
3) Worldliness 10 – “like the land of Egypt” he saw the fertile land, but not the corrupt people. To God the land was wicked.
4) Selfishness 11 – after all that Abram had done for Lot, Lot choose for himself and left.
5) Heedlessness 12 – The wickedness of the people did not alarm Lot, he saw opportunity and jumped in. He looked, he moved, he lived, in the presence of wickedness.
“Were it not for 2 Peter 2:7–8, we might wonder whether Lot was even saved. He is an illustration of the worldly believer who loses everything to the fire of judgment (1 Cor. 3:11–15). Saved, yet so as by fire!”[1]
3. Abram Choose to Accept God’s Plan
Again Abram was obedient in going.
Abram was good at going, but this time he was going rightly. In Genesis 12:1 God told Abram to “get out from his country and family.” He went, but he took his family with him, God want Abram and lot separated, this time he went the right way.
We must serve come to God and Serve God on His terms. It took personal pain for Abram to be in the right place to serve God.
He received God’s intended blessing, He was not perfect in all of his decisions, but he was moving in the right direction.
Conclusion: God like Abram acted first to create peace Himself and man. We are left with the choice of accepting His plan or doing our own thing. Choosing God’s plan and God’s way is not easy. You will certainly face personal struggle and even pain in your journey of being God’s child, but His love and blessings are worth the cost.
